The 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony has faced strong criticism because to its portrayal of Leonardo da Vinci's artwork "The Last Supper" through a "drag queen" performance, which many consider to be offensive to religious beliefs. In essence, this is just a continuation of the last 20 years, if not longer, of events. As most of you are aware, numerous aspects of the opening ceremonies of the previous Olympics—including the one in Paris—were unsettling to many.
Drag queens alongside LGBT icons were included in the portrayal, which served as the pinnacle of that unrest at the Paris Olympics. Since it was The Last Supper, there was a dinner in the midst of the action. A platter enters the scene as the dinner is opened. A strange blue man who is almost completely nude is inside and begins to sing in an odd way. The prepubescent child who is carried into a man's arms as everyone is stroking one other becomes even more unsettling as everyone in the scenario starts to play very orgiastically.
It's amusing how readily people can fall for gaslighting. Admittedly, I dismissed the possibility that the opening ceremony was a parody of the Last Supper before I gave it my full attention. I overheard a lot of individuals saying that it wasn't that and that the Feast of Dionysus was being represented instead.
In any case, it is obvious that this image alludes to the Last Supper. The tableau's name was a play on words in French, meaning something like "the scene of the Last Supper on the same river." The event's coordinator claimed to be alluding to the Last Supper. The individual seated in the middle of the table initially claimed that this was "the new gay testament" on Instagram. However, she later altered her post to read, "No, no, no, it's Dionysus," and erased the original message.
This is harmful, in my opinion. It distorts and weakens Christianity in certain ways in order to conform to this new reality. Using an orgy and celebration in place of the Last Supper is a fantastic method to do this. There are several parallels between holy communion and the feast of Dionysus. Christianity views communion as a means of uniting diversity into one; the act of eating the body of God during communion is turned into a symbol of unity in which everything is gathered together. Reviving these Dionysian feasts in place of genuine communion and offering the god Dionysus as the dish they eat to celebrate their differences is a clever method to undermine this.
The idea of dissecting a person and celebrating it is present in Dionysian myths. Communion is the opposite of the appreciation of diversity, plurality, and inclusiveness, yet it is so much the opposite that one can see how they are related. All of it is a part of the ancient Bacchanalia culture that is being revived in western society, along with a dash of paedophilia and cannibalism. They just take it all in and watch it as though it's nothing because they've grown so jaded and used to this nonsense. Dionysus is making a comeback, which makes sense given that he stands for the most extreme aspect of the natural world. We are watching the disintegration of a culture.
Numerous additional images throughout the ceremony, including the grim reaper figure astride the horse, are also subject to questioning and pointing to.
At the inauguration of Paris Olympics 2024, we saw a hidden cloaked figure riding on a house, behind him what would seem totally abnormal is a pair of wings. But what do we know about Lucifer in his fall? Well, he was a fallen angel and one third of the angels rebelled and fell with him. Revelation 6 mentions the four horsemen of the apocalypse. One reference to a white horse as well as a pale horse: “so I looked and behold a pale horse in the name of him who sat on it was death and hades followed with him.”
In Revelation 6 we are told of the beast that rides the white horse. In revelation 13:3 it tells us, “And all the world marveled and followed the beast…” So, what we saw here was that same cloaked figure riding a white horse. What’s behind him? All the nations of the world following after him. This stuff isn’t a coincidence. The imagery suggests that it’s pointing exactly to the beast of the antichrist of the book of revelation.
Many people are using the term "satanic," which I think is fine as long as we grasp it properly. On the one hand, there are Satanists who argue, "We're simply being ironic and cynical; we don't actually believe in Satan. This is all simply a play, with irony and jokes." And that's exactly what it is, to be honest. That is one of the issues with honouring irony and inversion at an event intended to unite nations and promote human excellence. Satanism is when your entire celebration is sardonic, mocking, and depraved. I'm okay with the idea that eventually these jokes will run out of steam and that new moral taboos and control mechanisms will be put in place.
We must stay alert and not get distracted by these minor blips. We must examine the bigger picture to determine what is actually going on and cling to the qualities and shared experiences that are what actually bring us all together. As a Christian, seeing this travesty of Christ alongside what was once the core of Western unity makes me want to be even more committed to the oneness found solely in Christ. mocking and inversion are both hollow and will eventually exhaust themselves. In the end, what matters most are the qualities that are positive, real, and beautiful; the responsibility for nurturing and prioritising these things is with each of us.
